One firm for the whole of your finances
AD Financy is an accounting firm for small and medium-sized businesses in Greater Copenhagen. We bring bookkeeping, VAT, payroll, the annual report and advisory together with one dedicated accountant, so you don't have to coordinate between several providers.
The price starts from the number of documents per year and then depends on how many parts of your finances we take on. You get the full price before we start. See the price level.
Working with a Danish accountant in English
Danish accounting has an unusual amount of it conducted through official channels: e-Boks for authority mail, TastSelv Erhverv for tax, MitID for access, and forms that exist in Danish only. That is manageable when you read Danish. When you don't, ordinary compliance quietly becomes a research project.
We handle that layer for you. All communication, reporting and advice runs in English, while we deal with the Danish authorities on your behalf. You are told what a letter says and what it needs from you — not forwarded a PDF in Danish.
What can AD Financy help you with?
Bookkeeping. Ongoing recording of documents, reconciliation of accounts and VAT reporting, so the figures are always current. Read about bookkeeping.
Annual report. Preparation and filing of the annual report with the Danish Business Authority before the deadline. See annual report services.
Payroll. Payroll runs with tax, ATP, pension and holiday pay. See our payroll service.
Tax and advisory. Tax optimisation, deductions and advice on company formation — ApS, A/S or sole proprietorship.
Starting a company in Denmark
If you are setting up rather than switching, the first decisions matter more than they look. The company form determines your personal liability and how you are taxed: an ApS (private limited) requires DKK 20,000 in share capital and keeps liability with the company, while an enkeltmandsvirksomhed (sole proprietorship) has no capital requirement but leaves you personally liable.
After that come CVR registration, VAT registration once turnover passes DKK 50,000 in twelve months, and setting up the bookkeeping so it satisfies the Bookkeeping Act from day one. We advise on the choice and handle the registrations, so the foundation is right rather than something to repair later.
Accounting for small and medium-sized businesses
We work with businesses across industries: trades and construction, retail, consultancy and clinics. The needs differ, and the setup has to follow.
A construction business with fluctuating stock and many small receipts needs a different chart of accounts than a consultancy with few, regular entries. So we always start by looking at how your business actually works before fixing the routines.
As the company grows, the solution grows with it — more employees, new activities or a change of reporting class are handled without you having to change provider.
How to choose the right accounting firm
Three questions decide, in practice, whether the relationship will work:
- Can you actually reach your accountant? A quick answer to a VAT question is often worth more than a thick report once a year.
- Do you know the price up front? Hourly billing makes budgeting impossible. Fixed prices based on document volume make it simple.
- Do you understand what you're being told? Advice you can't use isn't advice. We explain the figures in plain English.
What does it cost to use an accounting firm?
At AD Financy the price follows the number of documents per year — not the number of hours the work takes. You know the amount before we start, and it doesn't change because a month turns out to be busy.
We put the agreement together from the parts you need — bookkeeping, VAT, the annual report, payroll and tax advice — and you can pay monthly or once for the year. There is no lock-in period. See the price level.
Getting started with AD Financy
Changing accounting firm mid-financial-year is both legal and common in Denmark. We collect the trial balance and documents from your current accountant, get access to your accounting software, and then it runs. You typically spend about half an hour on the handover.
Frequently asked questions
What does an accounting firm cost in Denmark?

Do you work in English?
Yes. All client communication, reporting and advice can be handled entirely in English. We deal with the Danish authorities on your behalf, so you do not have to navigate Danish-language forms and letters yourself.

Yes. We collect the trial balance and documents from your current accountant and get access to your accounting system. It can be done mid-year, and it usually takes about half an hour of your time.
Can you help me register a company in Denmark?
Yes. We advise on choosing between an ApS, an A/S and a sole proprietorship, and help with CVR registration, VAT registration and getting the bookkeeping set up correctly from day one.
